- Newly created role to support, enable and lead the growth ambition of the Automation China from technical/product perspective.
- This role aims to gain an in-depth understanding and exploration of product situation (internal & external), analyzing the future planning of product evolution/improvement through extensive market data and actual business situations, in line with Technical Automation.
- LEAD technical and Ccooperate with front sales, technical, Industry and other relevant functions to define & realize Product Roadmap, product portfolio strategy & cost optimized product design

Purpose

- To define, optimize, drive & implement product strategy & product portfolio based on customer/market understanding,
- To provide competitive & valued product solution based on customer needs and market trends,
- To meet to long term customer needs and improve our competitive position including product R&D & technology innovation,
- To actively work with Automation BU sales force, industry, purchasing, finance & etc. to realize group VCP (Value Creation Plan) & increase profitable market share,
- To lead technical team to deliver results on demand and technical competencies development,
- To provide technical support and solution based on customer project needs,

Areas of responsibility
|
|
To ensure the development of the automation business, the Technical/Product development manager leads technical/product and business development plan, fostering an innovation and growth mindset through the organization. Main missions include:
- Responsible for analyzing market demands, customer needs and competitor products to develop competitive product strategies, roadmaps, and plans. Determine product core functions, features, and positioning, and clarify the target market/customer for the product portfolio standardization & optimization in alignment with Automation global technical,
- Responsible for understanding regional specific requirements, "localizing" global best practices and design product to competitive cost,
- Active engage even lead in RFQ process with right guidance and filtering activity from a technical and industrial perspective.
- Understand customer needs, gather feedback and suggestions, actively benchmark competitors' products and translate into solutions for product design improvement, innovation, and a competitive advantage in terms of best product cost improvement, pricing potential, complexity reduction, customer satisfaction and market share growth,
- Monitor market trends, study industry development trends and competitors' products. Analyze market opportunities and risks, and provide relevant data and solutions of technical & product development to support business decisions,
- Lead the technical department to drive and advance the realization of the product. Ensure that the product features meet market requirement and satisfy customer expectations,
- Track the market performance of the product after its launch, understand the product's quality performance & real cost data, and regularly analyze and evaluate your own products, the overall industry, and competitors, to continuously optimize and improve product planning,
- Provide technical product training and solutions to the sales team and customers. Offer relevant product information and technical solution for customer inquiries and questions.
- Lead the technical discussions and be responsible for the technical solution for customers,
- Structure, develop and manage the technical/product teams. Ensure that the team are properly staffed at the required level of competence with proper resources to serve the business and clients. Define and implement internal standards and procedures to streamline technical/product development & business process. Supervises team activities and output by implementing performance management tools.

Required skills and qualifications
|
|
- Bachelor’s degree or above, major in polymer material、electrical engineering、automation engineering
- At least 3 years in Automation cable industrial technical/product background, better to have R&D、product application experience.
- Strong knowhow of customers and certification bodies homologations process (UL, CSA, …)
- Customer orientation, deep technical & product knowledge of the cable industrial and automation market segment, product management experience is nice to have.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Strong capability to work in a team and internationally. Excellent communication skills.
- Open & Positive, proactive approach, strong analytics and drive for desired results.
- Problem solving techniques and continuous improvement mindset, eager to develop the business.
- Ability for extensive travel and fluent in English.
- Good skill on office software and good skill at both spoken & written English.
