IT infrastructure team context 

 

You will be part of the Global IT infrastructure Center of Excellence (IT infra CoE), which manages global Operations, Production, Projects, and Strategy for IT infrastructure.

You will arrive during a higly visible transformation program requiring a strong capacity for adaptation and an aptitude for change.

This internship is designed to bridge the gap between Level 1 support and advanced networking. You will be actively mentored and trained by the Level 3 Network and Level 3 Security Engineers.

 


2. Main responsibilities

 

We are looking for a motivated young talent to learn and eventually support Lynxeo's corporate and worldwide Network and Security landscape (Switches, Firewalls, WAF). Supervised by senior engineers, he/she will work closely with other teams to help our Business Groups realize our Digital Transformation.

 

Under guidance, he/she will learn to:

  • Assist in resolving service problems by participating in Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Help validate and implement solution releases (changes, upgrades, updates, patches, and migrations).
  • Manage communication with vendors regarding problems, patches, and maintenance.
  • Keep the CMDB up to date by modifying Configuration Items (CIs) during incidents and changes.
  • Provide second-line support and escalation assistance for helpdesk tickets, ensuring high user satisfaction.
  • Gain exposure to typical services like LAN, WAN, IT/OT firewalls, and infra as code (Firewall rules automation).

 

This mean : 

  • Participate in the technical implementation of standard and complex Changes.
  • Update the ticketing tool by integrating and tracking Changes.
  • Attend Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to understand planning and implementation chronograms.
  • Maintain technical reference documents and associated databases (Diagrams, operating procedures, CMDB, etc.).
  • Learn and Contribute to Security processes and workflows (e.g., Firewall rules).
  • Support routine production tasks (regular checks, inventory, monitoring, backup, maintenance).
  • Assist in incident and crisis management, including writing incident reports.
  • Perform network monitoring activities via the corporate monitoring tool.

 

We will expect a progressive acquisition of skills to manage tickets autonomously (incidents & changes), strong collaboration with other technical experts and sharing information with Level 3 engineers, consistent and clear reporting to the Network and Security Manager, and an active participation in continuous improvement (monitoring, operating instructions, etc.).


 3. Candidate profile

 

🎓 Technical skills required

 

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in IT, Networking, or Computer Science.
  • Fluent French and English.
  • Basic theoretical or academic knowledge of Cisco networks (Routing and Switching).
  • Familiarity with Agile principles.

 

🎓 Technical skills prefered 

 

  • Solid understanding of networking technologies, LAN/WAN, IP sub-netting, and the 7-layer OSI model.
  • Curiosity or initial academic exposure to Fortinet, Zscaler, or similar technologies.
  • Interest in learning Network as Code / automation / scripting (Ansible, Terraform, Python).
  • Knowledge of an industrial context and OT is a plus, however, the mindset of the candidate is more important than the actual knowledge, which can be acquired on the job.

4. Terms and benefits

 

  • Contract type: Internship of 6 months

  • Salary: 1603,12€ per month
