Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Plant Controller to oversee financial operations of our cable manufacturing site in Mönchengladbach and to play a central role in our ongoing business transformation. In addition to traditional controlling responsibilities, this role will lead the definition, measurement and tracking of operational KPIS and support PMO activities for operational key transformation initiatives.
The ideal candidate combines strong financial expertise with a hands-on understanding of plant operations, excellent analytical capabilities, and the ability to drive cross-functional alignment in a dynamic environment
Key Responsibilities
Plant Controlling & Financial Management
- Lead financial activities for the plant, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost control
- Supervise month-end closing activities and ensure accurate and timely reporting of plant performance, including gap analysis and productivity metrics
- Partner closely with Local Management and Operations to support decision-making and improve financial transparency
- Monitor cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities to measure and track manufacturing efficiency and profitability
- Synthesize and monitor investment plan
Transformation Support
- Review and improve KPI framework aligned with operational, financial and strategic objectives
- Define clear measurement methodologies, data sources, and reporting standards for relevant operational KPI
- Review master data and enforce adequate data quality
- Analyze trends, identify performance gaps, and provide actionable insights to leadership teams
- Facilitate regular performance reviews to ensure KPI ownership across the organization
- Prepare and present status-updates, risk assessments, and decision-making materials for Leadership-Team
- Ensure alignment between transformation initiatives, operational KPIs and financial targets
- Contribute to local IT Transformation, acting as key user for planned implementation of S4/HANA
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in controlling, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment or in a consulting company
- Proven experience in KPI development, performance management, or operational analytics
- Previous involvement in transformation programs, PMO roles, or cross-functional project experience
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, productions processes and operational drivers
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP systems, experience with SAP and BI tools is a strong advantage
