Reporting to the Global Technical Development Director, located in Pioltello (Italy), this position is key to strenghten our technical skills, with a high ambition on sales growth. You'll be part of a team of technical engineers (Germany, Italy), serving a global business with footprints in the U.S, Europe and Asia.

What about the missions to perform ?

In this role, you will be responsible for collaborating with design, engineering, and production teams to translate customer needs into manufacturable and industrialized products. Technical expertise will ensure that designs are feasible, efficient, and scalable, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and performance.

On Product Design and Development :

- Analyse new customer request, making cost calculation according with internal rules using the available costing tool
- Design and develop new cable products (e.g., power, measurement, control, data,…) based on customer and market needs.
- Set up specifications for new products or product modifications
- Manage or contributes to projects
- Responsible for product design, ensuring it meets internal and external standards
- Responsible of the datasheets creation based on specific request.
- Create and maintains Bills of Materials (BOM) & Routings in ERP
- Manage the product qualification process
- Drive industrialization process for new products
- Analyze test results and recommend design improvements or process changes.

On Support to Operations:

- work closely with production teams to optimize cable manufacturing processes for efficiency, consistency, and cost-effectiveness.
- support scale-up of new products from prototype to mass production
- investigate and resolve production issues related to product design or materials
- provide technical support and contribute to new process development

On Documentation & Compliance:

- maintain accurate product documentation including drawing, technical specifications, test reports
- ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., UL, IEEE, IEC, NEC, ISO).
- ensure all products meet regulatory, safety, and environmental compliance requirement

We are searching for a candidate with a growth mindset understanding the challenges of development for a market in constant progress: agile, ambitious, fast.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
5-8 years of experience in R&D or technical projects in cable manufacturing companies (preferably on special cables world)
Knowledge of cable construction and materials (e.g., copper, compounds, ..)
Understanding of cable testing methods and standards
Basic knowledge of CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD) for product design
Team working attitude
Ability to work cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and sales teams
Proactive approach and flexibility.
Problem solving techniques and continuous improvement mindset
Fluent in English
Available for traveling
