LEAD DESIGN ENGINEER at our industrial site in Draveil (91)

Reporting to the Engineering & Innovation Manager, as part of an experienced and committed team of 10 people :

✨ Your Mission : As the Lead Design Engineer, you will take charge of mechanical and electromechanical design activities focused on cable systems. Acting as the technical reference for your projects, you will supervise design and qualification efforts, coordinate engineering teams, ensure the delivery of robust solutions, and serve as the key technical liaison with customers.

Design & Technical Expertise

Analyze customer requirements and propose cost-effective, technically sound design solutions

Design cable assemblies, harnesses, and mechanical interfaces following industry standards (ISO, CE, IPC)

Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including product specifications, drawings, and test instructions

Utilize CAD tools (SolidWorks, Catia) and ERP systems (SAP) for article creation, BOMs, and routings

Identify and suggest improvements for products and manufacturing processes

Qualification & Validation

Define qualification plans aligned with customer requirements, project needs, and regulatory constraints

Supervise test campaigns in collaboration with Quality, laboratory, and R&D teams

Analyze test results, lead root cause investigations if failures occur, and define corrective actions

Coordinate customer acceptance processes and support audits or technical reviews

Ensure traceability and documentation of all qualification activities

Project Management

Lead the development lifecycle from design through industrialization, ensuring timing, cost, and quality targets are met

Track project milestones and coordinate cross-functional resources efficiently

Manage risks, ensure technical consistency, and drive decision-making during design reviews

Contribute to Request for Quotations (RFQs) and update project costing and technical documentation

Technical Leadership & Team Coordination

Supervise engineers and technicians assigned to projects and support their technical growth

Lead technical meetings, design reviews, and lessons-learned workshops

Promote best engineering practices and ensure compliance with standards

Customer Interface & Collaboration

Act as the main technical point of contact for clients, both French-speaking and international

Present design concepts, validation results, and technical justifications to customers

Collaborate closely with internal departments such as Production, Quality, and R&D, as well as external suppliers

🛠️  Your Skills and Qualities to Succeed?
Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical, or Industrial Engineering

Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical or electromechanical design, preferably within cable systems

Strong proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Catia), simulation tools (Ansys, Abaqus), and ERP systems (SAP)

Proven track record in managing technical projects and product qualification processes

Demonstrated leadership abilities combined with rigor, autonomy, and excellent interpersonal skills

Fluent in technical English and French (both written and spoken)
