Business Unit’s presentation :
- The Business Developer reports to the Segment Manager for the countries, and works in close collaboration with other team members in sales, marketing, legal, product management, front- and back office and business controlling.
- The actions of the Business Developer are guided by a commercial strategy and objectives for the segments. The targets are set annually and reviewed quarterly. The role reports weekly and monthly on progress towards the targets.
- Main responsibilities
As Business Developer you are responsible for:
- Selling a range of products, services and solutions to clients in the Nordics mainly focusing in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and UK.
- He/she will focus on developing Lynxeo position on the Energy Transition & Shipbuilding segments.
- He/she represents Lynxeo at A, B and targeted C customers and prospects in the field by executing the commercial action plan to maximise sales/commercial margin, in coherence with the pricing strategy defined for the segment.
- He/she is responsible for the full sales process, from prospecting to the elaboration of commercial proposals, and from order management to cash collection.
Achieve sales / Commercial margin objectives according to the Commercial Action Plan :
- Has intimate knowledge of target customers/markets, existing competitors in the marketplace and industry trends that may impact a buying decision
- Investigates to define the leverage(s) Lynxeo has to develop in order to obtain profitable growth
- Proposes and executes a sales action plan, develops alternative action plans to exceed the budget
- Targets A/B customers, prospects & visits customers
- Promotes value added offering, Lynxeo value proposition and image
- Develops relationship & loyalty and detects continuously new opportunities for Lynxeo
- Proposes and implements improvements in her/his customer and product portfolio and pricing
- Improves monthly Sales Forecasts Accuracy
Identifies Projects and Prospects that will generate profitable business in the short term (1 year) :
- Manages directly a portfolio of customers and ensures the validated budget is met or exceeded; regularly works on improving their product mix, pricing and profitability and selling value-add services in line with our differentiation strategy
- Insures that Lynxeo receive all the RfQs coming from his/her customer portfolio
- Selects the most relevant for Lynxeo : in line with Segment Strategy, complexity, profitability (CM) targets, potential turnover
- Prepares (or make it done) the offer
- Ensures that Lynxeo will be in line with the customer bidding process : dead line, legal topics…and involve all relevant support functions
Information/reporting
- Records visit reports in the company’s CRM for every meeting (internal/with customer)
- Ensures that the database is always up to date (Projects, Opportunities, Quotes)
- Makes Monthly Report to N+1 with main facts and information regarding market, customers, business opportunities, issues, orders, competition
- Provides forecasts in accordance with the Supply Chain S&OP process and participates to the S&OP meetings in the plants
3. Candidate profile
🎓 Technical skills
- Master’s degree in Sales/Negotiation or equivalent.
- More than 10 years of experience dealing with EPCs for Oil1Gas, Chemical or Energy Transition applications.
