We are seeking a Group Materials Innovation Specialist with expertise in polymer formulations for the cable industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing advanced material compounds to enhance product performance, quality, and cost efficiency. Additionally, this role involves sourcing new suppliers and identifying alternative materials to ensure cost competitiveness while maintaining or improving material properties.

Key responsabilities 

 

 

  • Develop and optimize cutting-edge polymer compounds for cable insulation, sheathing, and jacketing applications.
  • Conduct material testing and analysis to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to drive innovation and improve process efficiency.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot compound-related issues in production.
  • Research and evaluate new materials and alternative formulations for enhanced performance and sustainability.
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers to diversify and strengthen material sourcing.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends, materials, and technologies in polymer compounding.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with safety and environmental standards.

 

Skills looked for

 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science.
  • Experience in polymer compounding and material innovation (EPR, EPDM, HFFR, PVC, XLPE, or other cable materials).
  • Knowledge of extrusion processes and material properties in cable manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with standards such as IEC, UL, or ASTM is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in supplier sourcing and cost optimization is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
