Context 

 

In 2024 the Business Group Industrial Solution project has become independent from the Group Nexans and turned into a new standalone company Lynxeo 

Lynxeo manufacture and design cables and complex solutions for our industrial clients. Lynxeo after its carve out represents a €2+ billion sales split in 4 Business Units across 15+ countries (40+ sites, 16 700 HC) with exposure to multifaceted dynamics and burgeoning industrial cable market fueled by mobility, digitalization, and energy transition : 

  • Transport & Energy (e.g. Shipbuilding, Rolling Stock), Wind and Industrial Automation, 
  • Resources (e.g. mining), 
  • Aerospace and Medical,
  • Automotive (Harnesses)

Our Finance & Strategy team is in charge of continuing the Carve out process, defining the Equity Story of this newly formed group, defining its Target operating Model and leading financial analyses (M&A opportunities, portfolio optimization etc.). We are looking to recruit interns to grow our talent pool and reinforce the strategy and Corporate functions in these upcoming challenges!

 

Purpose of the position

 

The purpose of the Corporate finance & strategy Intern is to be deeply involved in the separation process and the new Equity Story definition of the new organization. Your position will be in close collaboration to the CFO and CEO, as well as Lynxeo business executives from across the world and external advisors (consulting firms, investment banks).

 

Areas of responsabilities

 

Build up analyses & syntheses linked to corporate finance and strategy covering a broad range of topics such as: 

  • Corporate finance (financial performance analysis and follow up, business reviews)
  • Corporate strategy (selective growth, business units transformation and optimization, etc.)
  • Market analysis 
  • M&A opportunities analyses (company analysis, business plan & synergies calculation) 

Be involved along with project management in the definition of the group strategy:

  • C-level syntheses and action plan follow up material to support decision making 
  • Synthesis of information gathered from all stakeholders (e.g. group experts, external advisors such as consulting firms or investment banks, etc.)

Support in preparing financial analysis and models (e.g. Business Plan modeling, units financial performance review) to support Management define strategy & and monitor financial performance 

 

Attitude and skills looked for :

 

You are in a gap year or End-of-course internship, and are :

  • Fluent in French and English 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills ; can easily convey messages in a concise way
  • Excellent synthesis and presentation skills
  • Pack Office (PowerPoint, Excel) proficiency 
  • Motivated, self-driven, interested in learning new concepts and ideas
  • Willingness to working in a fast-paced environment 
  • Problem solver, good ability to analyze issues, break problems down in a structured way, and draw insights 
  • Impact oriented, has self-drive to identify key issues/root causes and develop solutions 
  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with strong communication skills: able to influence and convince her/his audience 
  • Strong ability to cooperate cross functionally 
  • Proven strategy and finance skills, as well as mathematical acumen 

A first experience in strategy consulting or within a group strategy function, investment bank, audit / transaction services is a plus 
An interest to work in industrial environment is a plus
